Pain in musculoskeletal system

Pain in the musculoskeletal system can affect a single joint, such as very often the knee, several joints, such as the fingers and toes, or even entire sections of the body, such as the neck, shoulders or back. They are a leading symptom to detect possible damaging processes in the body. In arthritis, for example, pain on movement is an important indicator of the intensity of inflammatory or degenerative changes in the articular cartilage. In trauma, acute and passive movement pain may indicate the presence of ruptures (tears) or fractures (breaks). Joint diseases are musculoskeletal disorders and include osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and osteoporosis. They are the leading causes of severe long-term pain and physical disability, affecting hundreds of millions of people around the world.
